Profesionalización con enfoque gerontológico de los licenciados en rehabilitación en salud

Abstract

The increase in population aging is an inevitable phenomenon and constitutes an economic, cultural, educational, social challenge and for the health system of the world community. It is evident that as age advances, the prevalence of disability increases. This bibliographic review article aims to make visible the importance of professionalization with a gerontological approach for Health Rehabilitation graduates. Theoretical methods such as historical-logical, analytical-synthetic, structural and functional systemic were used in the theoretical systematization carried out on professionalization and gerontological approach, these elements, on which the construction of contextualized definitions of both terms is based and that can contribute to the design of new professionalization actions, in accordance with current social demands.
